School Magazine Audience Questionnaire Results

Here are the results I received from my school magazine questionnaire which essentially enabled me to pick a colour scheme, and cover lines that people would be interested in:

Compiling Questionnaire Results

1)      Would you be interested in reading a school magazine?
2)      How much would you be willing to pay for a school magazine?
3)      Who would you like articles to be written by?
The most popular answer to this question was pupils.

4)      What size would you like the magazine to be?

5)      How often would you like a new issue to be released?
The answer that was chosen most times was ‘Every Month’.

6)      What would be your preferred colour scheme? (main two colours)
For this question every participant had a different answer; however the one I’m going to choose is ‘Purple & White’

7)      Would you like the same amount of images as text?
The majority of people who took the questionnaire chose yes for this question.

8)      Would you prefer the front covers sell lines to be light-hearted, formal or a mix of the two?
Participants appeared to favour light-hearted sell lines as opposed to formal or a mix of both.

9)      What would you expect to be on the front cover?
Most results from the questionnaire showed that people would like a large, clear image on the front cover with a big, bold title and feature stories.

10)      What gender would you prefer to see on the front cover?
The results came out with ‘Both’ being the most favoured answer. Nobody chose just male and only one person chose female, a couple of people were neutral so said either.

11)      What sort of features would you prefer reading in the magazine?
Participants had to circle three out of a possible six. The most popular ones were Celebrity Gossip, Fashion Tips and Film Releases. However as this is a school magazine I’m going to include some homework help and career advice.

12)      What would you particularly not be interested in reading in a school magazine?
Majority of people taking part in the questionnaire chose Exam Results and particular school subjects as something that they would not be interested in.

13)      What would you call a school magazine?
As predicted I got a range of results for this question such as ‘Grade A’, ‘The School Magazine’, and ‘Schools In!’, however I have chosen to name my school magazine ‘Rising Star’ as it has connotations of the students being stars in their own right, and getting better all the time.
